Tracer Insecticide

Controls:

  • Caterpillar pests in Top Fruit and Field Brassicas.

Tracer is a naturally derived crop protection product which uses naturally occurring soil organisms in the process of manufacture. It's active ingredient spinosad is the first in a new group of chemistry called the ‘ Naturalytes ' The unique aspect though of this new chemistry is that it is as effective as synthetic type insecticides. The impact on mortality is as good and on certain pests (e.g . thrips) better, than existing control options.

Tracer's primary mode of action is by ingestion. When feeding on leaf area protected by Tracer the susceptible pest will be neutralized. With a typical residuality of 7-10 days this provides a valuable period of protection from incoming pest invasions, Tracer will also have some direct knockdown activity, similar to that of a pyrethroid when coming into direct contact with the target pest. The other major key benefit of Tracer is its selectivity, it has minimal impact on beneficial insects thereby encouraging a greater role for natural predation. Although bonding strongly to leaf tissue , Tracer is not systemic therefore for maximum efficacy it is vital to ensure good spray coverage and penetration into areas where the target pests are feeding. Tracer has a very favourable profile with regards to residues, the environment and operator exposure
